Seiniger Cares Supports Pro-Bono Participation
Seiniger Law is pleased to support area pro bono and charity organizations as part of their Seiniger Cares program. You can help, too.
Supporting Pro Bono and Charity Organizations
Seiniger Law has been fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase advertising on the back cover of the Idaho State Bar’s Advocate magazine in service to the profession. The Advocate is consistently one of the top publications in the industry. The ads are created by Boise graphic artist Nick Shultz. We encourage members of the legal profession to contribute to these worthy causes.
In 2010, Idaho Legal Aid Services attorneys provided legal assistance in 5,031 cases to Idahoans who could not afford to hire an attorney. Domestic violence victims represent 30% of ILAS cases. ILAS attorneys also provided legal representation to:
- Seniors seeking nursing home care
- Children needing guardianships
- Homeowners facing foreclosure
- Tenants being unlawfully evicted
- Persons seeking SSI disability and other government benefits
ILAS serves only an estimated 20% of Idahoans needing civil legal services. A donation of one hour out of your total annual billable hours will allow ILAS attorneys to provide up to five hours of attorney time to Idahoans who would otherwise be unrepresented. Tax deductible donations can be made at IdahoLegalAid.org. You may also mail your check to ILAS at 1447 S. Tyrell Lane, Boise, ID 83706.
Information on statewide volunteer opportunities can also be found on the ILAS website.
According to their website, Idaho Partners Against Domestic Violence “is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to preventing domestic violence through community awareness and promoting access for victims of domestic violence to the judicial system by increasing the number of legal services and volunteer attorneys available to represent them. The Idaho Partners Against Domestic Violence sponsors an annual campaign soliciting contributions from corporations, law firms, attorneys, and individuals. Two-thirds of the funds raised are distributed to Idaho Legal Aid Services and the Idaho Law Foundation’s Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program for free civil legal services to victims of domestic violence. Each $650 contribution provides a victim and their children the ability to enforce Idaho’s laws through the free legal assistance of a volunteer or legal services attorney.”
The Idaho Volunteers Lawyers Program
According to their website, the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP) “provides a safety net for low-income individuals and families in Idaho who require civil legal services and cannot afford to pay for them. IVLP recruits attorneys from local communities who volunteer their time and expertise to assist those in need. Volunteer attorneys provide legal advice and case representation in (mostly) family law cases and increase access to justice for low-income Idahoans through a variety of other IVLP projects.”
